Thursday is my magical day of the week where I get paid and the first thing that comes to mind is “What am I having for dinner?”
My co-worker dropped me off at Wal-Mart so I could cash my check and the whole time I was texting my sister trying to figure out where in the world we would go. We have a similar conversation to that of a couple, “What do you want?” “I don’t know, what are you in the mood for?” “I don’t care, I’ll eat anything. You choose.” ….. You can imagine. 🙂
While driving through the parking lot of Grossmont Center in La Mesa, California trying to figure out WHERE we were going to go we notice a grouping of food trucks and a decent size splatter of people wandering around amongst it. FOOD TRUCK IT IS!
We wandered through all the options and we decided on two trucks; The Not So Fast Food Truck (my choice) and the Stuffed Burgers Truck (my sisters choice). BOTH trucks exceeded our expectations and even though it was a little more expensive than I would have normally liked IT WAS SO WORTH IT!
I picked the Wild Boar; I should have positioned my burger for a better photo (sorry!). It’s perfect for someone looking to eat a healthier sandwich (they can wrap it in lettuce if you don’t want a bun) and the menu offers a vegetarian option for those avoiding meat all together. The side was a salad that had a very interesting tangy dressing. The meat had spices in it and the mustard provided some spicy heat that I welcomed whole heartedly. For me, this was the perfect sandwich to end my day with. I would definitely be buying from this truck again if the opportunity presented itself. The lady who took my order was super friendly and looked excited to be there. It’s important to be proud of your product and this crew was definitely proud of theirs. If you see this truck; STOP BY! It’s different from the average and earth conscious! I loved it!
My sis chose the biggest coolest burger she could find and SHE WENT BIG with the BOOM BURGER! She said it was the best burger she ever had, the most interesting & unique and despite her stomach feeling full COULD NOT STOP. Wasting this gorgeous burger would have been a sin and she finished it with a smile.
Don’t question the Macaroni and Cheese… just do it. The burger oozes cheese from the center and compliments the burger/mac & cheese combo like no other burger you have ever had. They have other options without the macaroni and cheese. There were a few people sitting amongst us who had ordered other burgers from the menu. All you could hear for the remainder of our meal was either silence (because we were all TOO BUSY consuming our amazingly delicious meat products) or “Mmm” “Yumm” “OMG IT’S SO GOOD” “Wow… this is awesome.” “Holy shit your burger is huge!” “Oh wow this is amazing!” and so on and so forth…
You get the idea… if you see this truck… order a burger. It doesn’t have to be a BOOM burger but… pick one and go for it. You will be in burger HEAVEN.
