5 ACCURATE Benefits & Things To Consider About Chiropractors & Adjustments

There are many myths surrounding the benefits of seeing a chiropractor, and since I’ve recently started working for a Chiropractic Physician, my interest in its benefits have peaked. I was completely unaware of the truths about chiropractic adjustments and the majority of my knowledge on the subject mostly came from Two and a Half Men. (I know it’s pathetic, but I promise you, I’m not the only one. haha)

Another terrible assumption I made was that the care was extremely expensive and financially unrealistic for me, despite the fact I never REALLY looked into it. The IDEA of receiving holistic care from a certified physician SOUNDED expensive to me. It wasn’t until I started working for the chiropractor that I discovered obtaining chiropractic “tune-ups” were actually AFFORDABLE and extremely EFFECTIVE.

There are many ailments that a chiropractor can help you with, and in my particular case, I suffer from chronic back pain, sciatic pain, and plantar fasciitis pain. He made it very clear to me that my recovery would take time and mindfulness, but that in my particular case, I MIGHT and VERY LIKELY will be able to avoid back surgery. I know there are tons of other people out in the world, also suffering from chronic pain, and are desperately looking for healthy solutions that DON’T include narcotic pain killers… Visiting a chiropractor might be an answer for you.

IMPORTANT: The below facts have been compiled from my research and have not been reviewed by a physician. Please do not attempt to perform chiropractic adjustments on yourself or other people without the approval or guidance of a licensed and trained professional.

01.

There is a myth that Chiropractors are not real physicians.

The truth of the matter is that chiropractic colleges grant a Doctorate of Chiropractic degree upon satisfactory completion of their studies. They can be licensed and perform their practice in every U.S. state as well as many other locations around the globe. Here’s another good tip; if you are unsure if the chiropractor you’re receiving your consultation from is legitimate, you have the right to do your own research to confirm whether or not that “chiropractor” is actually licensed. Most likely than not, they will be very excited about displaying their degrees on the wall or telling you about the school they attended.

02.

Another myth I heard regularly when sharing with people that I work in a chiropractic office, is that chiropractic adjustments are unhealthy and can cause death.

That is absolutely untrue. Chiropractors have to go through immense amount of studies, pass exams, and memorize a great deal of information, very similarly to that of a primary care physician. There are so few incidents of chiropractic adjustments causing permanent or deathly damage to a patient, that in the medical field, chiropractic aide is considered extraordinarily safe compared to other modern medicines. Chiropractors do not utilize drugs, injections, or perform surgery. Chiropractic physicians are also well known in the health industry for their fantastic work in preventative health and wellness management.

“Doesn’t getting adjustments hurt?”

No. In fact, all the adjustments I’ve experienced have been painless, relieving, and it’s very clear that my chiropractor is doing everything he can to AVOID causing pain. I now have LESS fear of receiving an adjustment from my chiropractor, than I am getting a flu shot once a year. Many of the patients and clients that visit the chiropractic office I work at look forward to their visits. They know that they are going to see the doctor fairly quickly and will leave feeling better than when they arrived.

04.

05.

How do I find a good chiropractor?

There’s a few things you can do to find a quality chiropractor in your area that will be able to meet your needs. Here’s some ideas to get you started:

  • Check with your insurance company, primary care physician, spine specialist, physical therapist, and other healthcare professionals that are helping to treat your ailment.
  • Ask friends and relatives if they visit a particular chiropractor and what they like about them.
  • Search online reviews of chiropractors in your area. If someone has had a terrible experience, they are likely to share it on google, glass door, or yelp. If the positive reviews outweigh the negative ones, there is a good chance you will have a positive experience at that particular office.
  • Visit chiropractors that offer a free consultation just to discuss your ailments, what services they can office, and to decide if you enjoyed the ambiance of the office. When you visit a chiropractor, you should feel comfortable there. It should be an atmosphere that makes you feel safe, cared about, and heard.
  • Take advantage of the consultation to discuss how long they have been practicing, what college they received their degree from, do they have a specific undergraduate or post-graduate specialty, and so on.
  • During the consultation, take a good look around. Was the receptionist polite, considerate, and helpful? Were your questions answered with transparency? Did you enjoy your visit overall?

POTUS: He smiles and continues, “After our amazing election victory the forgotten men and women. Remember we used to talk about the forgotten men and women before the election? Guess what, they’re not forgotten. Any… anyone. Right? Anyone. No they’re not forgotten anymore folks. In fact they’re trying to figure you out. They’re saying, the obstructionist, how do we get them to vote for us? I don’t think that’s going to happen anytime soon.”

POTUS: “We believe that every American has the right to live with dignity. Respect for America demands respect for all of its people. Loyalty to our nation requires loyalty to each other. We all share the same home, the same dreams, and the same hopes for a better future.” He extends his index finger, while connecting the middle finger to the thumb, and pointing upwards. “A wound inflicted upon one member of our community, is a wound inflicted upon us all. We are all Americans and we all believe right now in America first.”

BACKGROUND: (AUDIENCE CHEERS AND CLAPS. PERSON STANDS UP WITH WHITE T-SHIRT THAT READS “TRUMP & REPUBLICANS… ETC… HOLDING TRUMP PENCE SIGN.)

POTUS: “And it’s happening, and it’s happening fast. I see all those red hats and white hats. It’s all happening very very fast. It’s called Make America Great Again, you see what’s going on. It’s coming back very fast. We want every child to succeed, every community to prosper, and every struggling American to have a chance for a better life.” He is still utilizing various hand gestures while speaking. “What happened in Charlottesville strikes at the core of America and tonight this entire arena stands united, in forceful condemnation of the thugs who perpetrate hatred and violence.”

NOW THE PEOPLE SITTING AROUND THAT PERSON ARE DISTRACTED BY WHAT THEY’RE WRITING AND IS LOOKING IN THEIR DIRECTION. HOPEFULLY WE’LL FIND OUT SOON WHAT WAS SO IMPORTANT FOR THAT PERSON TO WRITE ON THEIR SIGN.)

POTUS: “But the very dishonest media, those people right up there,” he says while pointing towards the camera’s in front of him, “with all the cameras.”

BACKGROUND: (THE ONE PERSON IS STILL WRITING ON THEIR SIGN. THE REST OF THE PEOPLE BEHIND POTUS IS POINTING THEIR THUMBS DOWNWARD AND CHANTING, “BOO!” AND LAUGHING AS WELL.)

POTUS: Trump nods his head up and down, reaches in his pocket, pulls out a blue note card, and sets it down in front of him while the audience boos and he continues nodding his head up and down.

POTUS: Trump turns to his right revealing his very distinct sideways silhouette, which includes puckered lips, comb over, a weak chin, and discerning eye brows. Oh, and a bit of a droopy neck line. He turns to face the audience directly behind him, and they become quite excited.

BACKGROUND: (AUDIENCE STARTS CHANTING “TRUMP! TRUMP! TRUMP!”)

POTUS: He returns to his mic and continues speaking, “So the, and I mean truly dishonest people, in the media and the fake media, they make up stories, they have no sources in many cases, they say a source says, there is no such thing. But they don’t report the facts,” he raises the volume of his voice, “just like they don’t want to report that I spoke out forcefully against hatred, bigotry, and violence. And strongly condemn the neo-Nazi’s, the white supremacists, and the KKK.”

BACKGROUND: (AUDIENCE CHEERS AND CLAPS)

POTUS: Waving his right hand up and down, “I openly called for unity, healing, and love and they know it!” He points in the direction of the cameras, “because they were all there. So why did,” he pulls papers folded in half out of his suit jacket, unfolds it, and shows it to the audience, “So what I did is I thought I’d take just a second and I’m really doing this,” while speaking he connects the index finger to the thumb and revealing his palm, “more than anything else, ’cause you know where my heart is.” He brings his palm to his chest. “Okay.”

BACKGROUND: (AUDIENCE CHEERS AND CLAPS)

POTUS: “I’m really doing this to show you how damned dishonest these people are. So here is my first statement, when I heard about Charlottesville, and I have a home in Charlottesville. A lot of people don’t know. Here’s the first, can’t believe they haven’t figured that one out yet” he says while pointing towards the cameras again, with a smirk on his face. “Now they know. Now they finally know.”

BACKGROUND: (AUDIENCE LAUGHS AND SMILES)

POTUS: “But I, I, just, don’t wanna bore you with this. But I, it shows you how dishonest they are, and most of you know this anyways. So here’s what I said, really fast, here’s what I said on Saturday.” He begins reading from the papers he pulled out of his jacket a few moments ago, “We’re closely following the terrible events unfolding in Charlottesville Virginia. This is me just speaking. We condemn in the strongest possible terms, this egregious display of hatred, bigotry, and violence. That’s me speaking on Saturday.”

BACKGROUND: (AUDIENCE CHEERS. PERSON HOLDS SIGN UP REPEATEDLY THAT READS “BLACKSFORTRUMP2020.COM”)

POTUS: He shrugs his shoulders and faces his right palm out, “right after the event. So I’m condemning the strongest possible terms egregious display hatred, bigotry, and violence. Okay. Yeah.”

BACKGROUND: (THE PERSON HOLDING THE BLACKS FOR TRUMP SIGN SEEMS TO BE MAKING A FRIENDSHIP CONNECTION WITH THE PERSON STANDING NEXT TO THEM. THEY SEEM TO BE ENJOYING THEIR CONVERSATION.)

POTUS: “That’s okay, I think you can’t do much better, right? Okay, but they didn’t want to put this on, they had it on initially, but then when they talk,” he begins speaking in a mocking tone, “they didn’t say it fast enough. He didn’t do it on time.”

BACKGROUND: (AUDIENCE LAUGHS AND SMILES)

POTUS: “Why did it take a day? He must be a racist.” he continues speaking in his mocking tone, “It took a day.” He stares at his papers and waves his hand forward towards the camera. He smiles, shakes his head, the audience behind him laughs, claps, boos, and throws their fist in the air. Trump continues, “Dishonest people. So here’s, here is me, I hope they’re showing how many people are in this room.”

BACKGROUND: (THE ONLY PORTION OF THE AUDIENCE THE VIDEO HAS VIEW OF ARE THE PEOPLE DIRECTLY BEHIND HIM. WHEN I MENTION THE AUDIENCE PLEASE UNDERSTAND I CAN ONLY VIEW THE APPROXIMATELY 14 PEOPLE SITTING DIRECTLY BEHIND POTUS. PRETTY MUCH JUST THE PEOPLE IN THE BELOW PHOTO WAS ALL I COULD SEE.)

president trump blacks for trump 1

POTUS: “But they won’t, they don’t even do that. The only time they show the crowds is when there is a disruptor or an anarchist in the room. I call ’em anarchists. Because believe me, we have a lot of anarchists, they don’t wanna talk about the anarchists.” He looks back down at the papers, “So this is me. It has no place in America, I’m talking about hatred, bigotry, and violence.” He then repeats himself, “It has no place in America! What is vital now is a swift restoration of law and order and the protection of innocent lives. No citizen should ever fear for their safety, security in our society.”

BACKGROUND: (HALF OF THE FOURTEEN OR SO PEOPLE I CAN SEE ARE DISTRACTED BY PHONES, THE OTHER ONES HAVE SMILES PLASTERED ON THEIR FACES, EXCEPT FOR ONE PERSON WHO SEEMS VERY SERIOUS.)

POTUS: “And no child should ever be afraid to go outside and play or be with their parents and have a good time. This is me speaking.” He points to himself and a person in the background waives their hand up in what seems to be agreement. You can hear the audience cheering and clapping. “Here’s further, here’s on Saturday, the first one. I did this three times.” Trump shows himself holding the last three fingers on his right hand up in the air. “We have to come together as Americans with love for the nation and true affection. Really, and I say this so strongly. True affection for each other. I didn’t say true affection for you and you and you and you. I said for each other. All of us.”

BACKGROUND: (THE SIGN READING “BLACKS FOR TRUMP” IS BEING HELD UP AGAIN.)

POTUS: “All of us. All of us. But they don’t report it. They don’t, they just let it go. Above all else we must remember this truth, no matter our color, creed, religion, or political party. We are all Americans first. We love our country. We love our God. We love our flag.” He shrugs and puts his hands out to the sides. He turns to face the audience behind him.

BACKGROUND: (AUDIENCE CHEERS AND CLAPS AND SMILES WITH BIG EXPRESSIONS. AUDIENCE STARTS CHANTING “USA! USA! USA!” AGAIN.)

POTUS: “Then I went on, this is my first segment. And they said, remember they said, he wasnt specific enough.” He raises his voice, “Why wasn’t he more specific? So or my second statement, I got REALLY specific, and they said why didn’t he do it faster?”

BACKGROUND: (AUDIENCE BEHIND HIM LAUGHS.)

POTUS: “The, I, I’m telling you folks, look, look. I know these people probably better than anybody.” He points to the cameras in front of him. “And a lot of people have a problem with them, because look, what happens with them. If they’re doing a story about me, I know if it’s honest or false. If you’re reading a story about somebody, you don’t know, you assume it’s honest because it’s like the failing New York Times, which is like so bad.” Someone in the audience laughs loudly. “It’s something.”

POTUS: “Or the Washington Post, which I call a lobbying troll for Amazon. Okay, that’s a lobbying tool for Amazon. Or CNN which is so bad and so pathetic and their ratings are going down.”

POTUS: “Right?”

BACKGROUND: (AUDIENCE CHANTS, “CNN SUCKS! CNN SUCKS! CNN SUCKS!” OVER AND OVER AGAIN.)

POTUS: He throws his hand towards the camera with an interesting expression that I wasn’t sure how to label. I’m not sure if he’s proud, disappointed, or something else? I’m not completely sure. “But, hold it there. I mean CNN is really bad, but ABC this morning. I don’t watch it much, but I’m watching it in the morning. And they have little George Stephanopoulos looking to Nikki Haley, right? Little George.” He places his hand to the side, as if referencing to the small height of someone. “And. And he talks about the speech I made last night, which believe it or not, got great reviews. Right? They had a hard time! They were having a hard time because it was with soldiers, we were somber, we were truthful, we were doing, we were saying things, and it really did.”

BACKGROUND: (THAT LAST PART WAS UNCLEAR TO ME, BUT THE AUDIENCE SEEMED TO HAVE UNDERSTOOD IT?)

POTUS: “So he talked about it for, like that much” he says while pinching his index finger and thumb together to signify a small amount. “Then he goes, let’s get back to Charlottesville. Charlottesville? And Nikki was great. She’s doing a great job by the way. So now, I say we have to heal our wounds,” as he reads off a piece of paper, “and the wounds of our country. I love the people of our country. The people. All the people. It says I love all of the people of our country.”

BACKGROUND: (HE SAYS HE LOVES ALL OF THE PEOPLE, BUT HE SAYS THE PEOPLE OF THE MEDIA ARE PATHETIC AND BAD, WHO ARE ALSO IN FACT PART OF THE PEOPLE OF OUR COUNTRY?

18:02 POTUS: “I didn’t say I love you because you’re black, or I love you because you’re white, or I love you because you’re from Japan, or you’re from China, or you’re from Kenya, or you’re from Scotland, or Sweden. I love all the people of our country.”

POTUS: “So I said here’s my my, this is, by the way folks, this is my exact words. I love all the people of our country. We’re going to make America great again, but we’re going to make it great for all of the people of the United States of America.”

BACKGROUND: (AUDIENCE CHEERS AND CLAPS)

POTUS: “And then they say, is he a racist? Is he a racist? Then I did a second one.” Trump and the audience behind him look to their left. “Then I did a second one. Don’t bother it’s only a single voice, and not a very powerful voice.” He points towards the left at whoever was yelling. You could not discern in the video what that person was saying.

BACKGROUND: (THERE IS A STRANGE MELDING OF OPPOSING CHANTS. TRUMP SUPPORTERS ARE CHANTING USA! ANTI-TRUMP SUPPORTERS ARE CHANTING SOMETHING I CANNOT DISCERN FROM THE VIDEO FOOTAGE. IT SOUNDED KIND OF LIKE “DOWN WITH TRUMP” BUT I COULD BE WRONG.)

POTUS: “How did he get in here? He’s supposed to be with the few people outside.” Trump says in reference to whoever was yelling at him from his left side. He continues, “How about, how about all week they’re talking about the massive crowds that are going to be outside. Where are they? Well it’s hot out. It is hot. I, I think it’s too warm. You know, they show up in the helmets and the black masks and they’ve got clubs and they’ve got everything. Antifa!”

BACKGROUND: (AUDIENCE BEGINS BOOING AND POINTING THEIR THUMBS DOWNWARDS)

POTUS: “So on August the 14th, that was it and all people, I said I love all people, right? Now I figure we’re gonna do it again. I’ll be even more specific. So I said based on the events that took place over the last weekend in Charlottesville, I’d like to provide the nation with an update, because that was right after the first one, right? An update on ongoing federal response to the horrific attack in violence that was witnessed by everybody. To anyone who acted criminally in this weekends racist violence, you will be held fully accountable. Justice will be delivered.”

BACKGROUND: (AUDIENCE CHEERS AND CLAPS)

POTUS: “That’s what I said. Listen to that. I said that but they don’t show that” he says while pointing towards the cameras recording in front of him. “They don’t show it. They’ll talk, they take one thing like, seriously, he was late was the best thing. He was late! So I said to anyone who acted criminally in this weekends racist violence. Okay,” he puts his right hand up while reading from his papers, “and I go, we must love each other. Show affection for each other and unite together in condemnation of hatred, bigotry, and violence. We must rediscover the bonds of love and loyalty that bring us together as Americans, right?”

BACKGROUND: (THE PERSON WHO KEEPS GETTING DISTRACTED BY THEIR PHONE, LOOKS AT TRUMP AND SHOUTS AMEN!)

POTUS: “And I said, racism is evil. Did they report that I said racism is evil?” He scans the audience while listening to a variety of voices shouting the word “no.” He continues, “you know why? Because they are very dishonest people. So I said, racism is evil, now they’ll only choose, you know, like a half a sentence here and there, and then they just go on this long rampage, or they put on these real light weights all around a table that nobody ever heard of. And they all say what a bad guy I am. But, have you ever seen anything, and then you wonder why CNN is doing relatively poorly in the ratings.”

BACKGROUND: (AUDIENCE LAUGHS AND SMILES AND NODS AT EACH OTHER)

POTUS: “Because they’re putting like seven people all negative on Trump, and they fired Jeffrey Lord, poor Jeffrey Lord. Jeffrey.” Trump sighs. “Jeffrey Lord. I guess he was getting a little bit fed up when he was probably fighting back a little too hard. They said we better get outta here. Get him outta here. And those, of course, violence in its name are criminals of thugs. Including the KKK, and the Neo-Nazi’s. White supremacists, and other hate groups that are repugnant to everything we hold true as Americans. Now let me ask you, can it be any better than that? In all fairness.”

POTUS: “And you know I mention that but to the best of my knowledge, when there was a big problem, Barack Obama never said it took place because of radical Islamic Terrorists. He never said that, right? He doesn’t have to say.”

POTUS: “You know why? Because they have a double standard. Because the media’s totally dishonest and they have a double standard. You never heard them say that. In fact, if you use the term you get criticized. But with me, they wanted me to say it, I said it. And I said it very clearly but they refuse to put it on.” He points at the cameras in front of him. “Those who spread violence in the name of bigotry strike the very cord of America. These are my words. This was on Monday, August the 14th. See it’s Saturday, you had Monday, I was going to do one of these every week, but you would never get it right.”

I apologize but I had to stop transcribing there. Listening to our President talk was starting to make my head hurt. If you’d like to know what else our President said check out the full rally speech on YouTube.

Moons, Mythology & Gardening for June 2017 – Zone 2

I live in Zone 2 (Arizona) so my collage below is just a collection of info handy to my zone. Hopefully this information will be handy and helpful to you. If you live in, around or near Arizona hopefully this will be a good little guide for your homestead. I’m gonna cover the details in the collage below; moons, plants, crops, hydroponics, plant pests, transplanting, flowering plants and when to set eggs and what it means to set eggs.

I’m only covering the month of June in 2017 at this time. We’ll go over future months as they come up. It’s already the 4th (so I’m a little late – oops) but there’s still a lot coming up for the remainder of the month.

JUNE – Where did “June” come from?

So first thing, let’s discuss the word “June” and how it creates the name of the month. According to the farmers almanac it states

“from the goddess of women, marriages and childbirth, and wife of Jupiter.”

According to answers.com it comes from Roman Goddess Juno. It makes sense since they sound similarly. Goddess-Guide.com explains that “Juno” was the Goddess of marriage, pregnancy and childbirth. It also makes sense that it’s a month included with the end of spring and beginning of summer, since that’s when the natural world usually procreates, spreads its seed, has babies, blossoms and so on…

The Capitoline triad includes Juno, Minerva and Jupiter. She played the Roman example of the traditional mother and the roles females played during that time period.

It’s recorded that she was the patron Goddess of the Royal Mint; if you’re experiencing financial troubles I suggest speaking to her on the full moon or while it’s waxing (that means before the 9th!)

Juno also has made June the perfect month to get married since she represents the household; its the luckiest month to get married according to her mythology.

During this month she also is a reminder to consider the positive and negative aspects of our personalities; focus on your leadership skills and loyalty in relationships both romantic and friendly. Remember to not let the negative emotions get hold of you and cause negative consequences; such as jealousy and vindictiveness.

If you have a pagan altar consider placing peacock feathers on it or images of geese; these are said to be her sacred birds. The sacred plant is the wild fig tree; figs have long ben symbols of fertility and childbirth and renewal. This is also the perfect time to find them fresh in the grocery store and enjoy them. Juno’s archetype included the companion and the Queen. Think to yourself if you’re being a good companion to the person you are with now. What can you do to strengthen your bond with him/her? As the Queen of your domain, are you ruling is fairly? Are you owning your strengths with humility and doing not just what’s best for you, but also others?

June Moon Phases 2017 – How do the moons affect us this month?

          Full Moon

For the month of June the moon is commonly named the “Strawberry Moon.” The name comes from the annual harvesting of strawberries during this month, coined by the Algonquin tribe. Europeans call it the “Rose Moon” since this is the month the roses start blooming like crazy in their part of the world. There are some cultures that call it the “Hot Moon” because, well… it’s strikingly HOT. Here in Tucson today, as I was driving through town, around noon, I noticed the temperature gauge on my car read the outside was 103 Degrees Fahrenheit!

As of right now (6/4/2017) the moon is in Libra. During this phase of the moon we probably feel like we need to orchestrate order into our lives and patch up relationship holes. Remember to take deep breaths and allow yourself to rest a bit.

June 9th, the moon will be full, and it will be in Sagittarius. While in Sagittarius it will influence us to feel more optimistic and generally content. Sagittarius is a fire sign which means it’s a perfect time to contribute towards your passions, be creative, color in a coloring book, make some crafts off your Pinterest board, take photographs, etcetera… whatever sparks your creative mind; PURSUE IT. The weather should be fairly tolerable, flowers are blossoming, the grass is a deep green, the sky is blue… you might feel the need to wander. I encourage you to do it! Explore some natural places, meditate under a tree on the grass and listen to the birds, wander aimlessly through a city; do whatever your soul desires. Don’t forget to be mindful of possible negatives; just because you know something doesn’t mean you should force it on others. There are always a million different ways to accomplish the same thing, people learn at their own paces and when you feel the urge to shove someone out of the way to do it yourself…. stop. Take a step back and release that need to control. It’s better to keep the peace and be patient.

New Moon – We can’t see the moon, but it’s still there…

On June 23rd, 2017, the moon will be in Cancer; some deep emotional issues might resurface and inspire some negative feelings. Take a moment of compassion when you feel that negative energy rising in your chest. Some things are good to hold onto, and some things are meant to be let go of. Pick your battles wisely; not only with others but also with yourself. Work on your self-relationship and start being your own biggest cheerleader. Every time you catch yourself saying you can’t or never will, change it to you can and you will. Make a plan if you have to. Lift yourself up… we’re all capable and all have the same potential as anyone else.

Moon is close to Jupiter on June 3rd, 2017.

You will be able to observe Jupiter near the moon for a few days more after the 3rd.

Moon will be closer to Saturn on June 9th, 2017.

June 9th will be a full moon and its light will be extremely bright making it harder to see some stars. Keep your eyes open though because you should be able to spot Saturn.

           Plant Above Ground Crops on June 3rd – 7th, 24th and 25th, 2017.

Above ground crops include broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, brussels sprouts and kale. All of these vegetables produce their crops on the above ground parts of their plants. You can include strawberries, blackberries and literally anything where its CROP grows ABOVE GROUND.

         Plant Root Crops on June 11th, 12th, 16th and 17th, 2017.

Root crops include beets and carrots, potatoes and sweet potatoes, as well as the leaves of root crops; such as beet tops. Root Crops are literally any plants whose crops grow UNDERGROUND.

         Tend Hydroponics on June 16th, 17th, 24th and 25th, 2017.

If you’re a fan of marijuana, you might have heard of hydroponic weed and how great it is! But you must know, marijuana isn’t the only plant you can grow hydroponically. Many different fruits and vegetables create robust crops after being grown hydroponically. Hydroponics is the process of growing plants in water, no soil, and all nutrients are added by using a concentrated liquid solution. Sometimes gravel or perlite are used; depends on how the farmer has his hydroponic system set up.

        Control Plant Pests on June 18th, 19th, 22nd and 23rd, 2017.

There is an entire wiki-how on HOW to control plant pests so I won’t go into too much detail.

I am curious on how they come up with those dates. What I learned is they gather these dates based on insect actions that are affected by the moon. The dates aren’t exact but they should be pretty close to accurate.

Another tip I have, buy containers of live ladybugs and let them free in your garden. Lady bugs are fantastic at killing unwanted pests; they live off of them for food.

Transplant Seedlings on June 3rd through the 7th, 2017.

Here’s a Farmers Almanac entry on how to properly transplant seedlings. Instead of taking the plants straight from their little starter pods and right into the hot heat of the outdoors you will want to gradually help them with this change. It can send them into shock which will cause your crops to suffer. Plants are living breathing organisms and suffer from stress just like we do if not handled properly. One way to make this easy for them is to do the transplant early in the morning or late in the evening when the sun is setting. You won’t want to do this in the heat of the day, not just for the plants sake, but also for your health. Heat stroke SUCKS!

Plant Flowers on June 24th and 25th, 2017.

Late in the month of June, around the 24th and 25th, the temperature in Zone 2 should drop a little and welcome the monsoons. The rain will help the flowers flourish and the temperatures should ease them into their new environment. While you enjoy watching your flowers bloom you will also get to enjoy the swarm of monsoon storms (if you’re in Arizona that is a for sure thing!)

      Set Eggs on June 3rd, 4th, 11th and 12th, 2017.

If you are raising chickens from eggs, you will want to set them into the incubator on June 3, 4, 11, and 12th. You can also have eggs set by using a broody hen and allowing them to sit on the eggs. Modern Farmer has a fantastic and detailed article on how to incubate chicken eggs if you need further information.

Well that’s all I have at the moment. Let’s see how this month goes. I’ll update this page as the month unfolds. I am extremely eager to see the monsoons come in. I love floating in the pool and watching the clouds fly by.

I am eager for the full moon too as well. My altar space really needs a good cleaning and I’ll be happy to let the stones and crystals bathe in moon light.

Have a lovely and fruitful June! Love & Light to you all.

The Invitation & Preparation

I’ve been preparing for a long distance hike for a few weeks now. I’ve been invited multiple times in the past by my good friend Ross, who adventures around the world and used to be an Army paratrooper, to join in with him. I always had a reason why I couldn’t though. I had a child, I had bills, I had a job, I had a car payment; I had a lot of reasons that would justify my not joining him. What I did know was if I ever decided to run away and go on an adventure it would be with him.

In the last few years since his initial invitation from Ross my life took a drastic change for the worse. I lost my job at the casino I loved working for, I lost my apartment that I decorated and made personal, I lost my car that I named and had an attachment to… I lost everything including my daughter, who now lives with her father. I found myself in and out of a pill and spice addiction (two things that shouldn’t be used especially combined). I found myself suicidal, anti social, anti everything and very self-destructive. All my belongings fit in two bags and a purse. I lost practically everything.

My sister and brother-in-law saved me. They moved me back to my hometown of San Diego California and took me into their home. I quit taking pills, I quit smoking spice and I got a job at a call center that sold wine. I climbed the office ladder and in less than a year was supervising anywhere from 20 to 40 phone agents efficiently and with much confidence. I had thousands of dollars worth of dental work done and was moving quickly to “better” myself or so I thought.

I became irritated with the office politics, didn’t know how to cope with it and a job offer from another call center enticed me. I quit my job and transferred believing I was working towards a better me. I found myself in a situation that was no better. I didn’t feel satisfied. I still felt empty, depressed and hating my life.

I worked hard to try and be independent and yet I hadn’t improved my life much; I was still under the care of my compassionate sister and brother-in-law, and my belongings fit into the trunk of the Saturn Ion they had let me use to transport myself to work and back home.

Long story short, that job fell through the cracks and I found myself right at the same place I was when I got off that airplane and landed in San Diego California a year and half prior. I found myself jobless yet again and had nothing to show for my hard work except a Level 2 WSET Certificate that proved I learned the basics about wine.

I sat up late one night, unable to sleep due to the crazy thoughts that ran through my brain. I remembered Ross invitation to go on an adventure. The last I heard he was hiking the Pacific Crest Trail. He wanted me to join him on that adventure but it never happened. At this moment, sitting in the dark all alone, I realized I had no excuses. I had so few belongings it was silly, no job, no child, no bills… I had nothing. I found Ross on Facebook and messaged him.

He only made it 300 miles into the PCT due to a damaged Achilles tendon. As unfortunate as that event was for him it gave me a reason to join him. I don’t want him to be alone on some crazy adventure like that ever again! He is my friend and I love him.

His next venture would be on the Arizona Trail from Phoenix to Utah. This time I wanted to join. I have to be prepared by March of 2016 and that is what I am doing. Here we go.
